Come visit a very beautiful Renaissance sgrafitti castle near Prague. Get to the main courtyard paved in the original way by cobble stones and go through a unique complex of newly restored rooms with the original furniture.
Take a look at the Flemmish tapestries and Barrock chairs, as well as the main rooms of the Lobkowicz noble family.
The main thing that you will enjoy is a big collection of paintings. In the Middle Ages one of the most important Bohemian noble families, the Lobkowiczs collected a fortune being a catholic family loyal to the Hapsburg kings. Members of this family were the main royal ministers and commanders of the royal army.
Goo see tens of valuable paintings from Rubens, Velasquez, Dutch and Italian artists that the family gathered during the centuries.
The castle was confiscated by the communist regime to the family and most of the family members left Czechoslovakia to avoid further persecution.
The Lobkowicz family got the castle back in the restitution that took place after fall of communism in Czechoslovakia in 1989.
